In May 2021, Wyre Council appointed Councillor Julie Robinson as their Mental Health Champion to raise awareness of mental health issues and the support that is available across the borough.
One of Julie's initiatives was to start a Men's Shed over Wyre.
Following her article in the Focus Magazine (Green Book), a group of us came together, with the aim of helping to create such a place, and also enjoy it.
Our meeting place at the moment, thanks to their generosity, is the Blessed Virgin Mary church hall, Church Lane at Hambleton, post code FY6 9BZ.
We meet there every Tuesday between 10am and noon.
Well, we can offer you, a warm and friendly welcome, tea or coffee and an invite to join us in our activities.
We enjoy, dominoes, painting, boccia (a type of sit-down indoor bowling), and when the weather suits, we play Petanque (French boules) outside. So if this is of interest to you, then come along, and join us.
This year, we plan to have more canal boat trips, and visits to interesting places.
Maybe you want to be more computer savvy, or learn to play an instrument, or learn to sail. Good, come and join us, we are happy to pass on our skills and knowledge, to help you!
